The rapper-producer was found unresponsive at a hotel room in Florida, according to the group's former head of security.
The Brooklyn native had reportedly struggled with drug addiction for years.
Digital Underground rose to fame with their top 10 Billboard hit "The Humpty Dance" in 1990.
Shock G was 57.
