Brooklyn boy, 3, dies days after being found unconscious
The 3-year-old Brooklyn boy who police found unconscious in his Gravesend home last week has died, police say.
Jaden Jordan was taken to a hospital after police found him on Monday. They say his mother's boyfriend, Salvatore Lucchesse, told them Jaden slipped in a bathtub.
After questioning Lucchesse, 24, police charged him with four counts of assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The charges are expected to be upgraded.
Police accuse Lucchesse of fracturing the toddler's skull and causing severe internal injuries.
Emin Aliyev, the boy's uncle, says he was taken off life support on Saturday. He criticized Jaden's mother for allowing the toddler to stay in a home with someone police say had a long history of domestic abuse.
Public Advocate Letitia James is calling for an investigation into the Administration for Children's Services and its handling of allegations against Lucchesse just days before the death.
