The state Public Authorities Control Board voted Tuesday to allow the Port Authority to turn over four piers in Brooklyn Heights for the new Brooklyn Bridge Park.
The Empire State Development Corporation says piers 1, 2, 3 and 5 will make up two-thirds of the future Brooklyn Bridge Park. The $150 million park will offer a new recreation area as well as hotel and apartment buildings.
Developers interested in building hotels, condos and commercial venues are expected to begin submitting proposals in the upcoming months.
