Despite reports of long lines at the polls, Brooklyn voters came out in droves Tuesday morning to elect the next U.S. president.

Some voters were waiting outside of a Fort Greene polling place as early as 4:30 a.m. in hopes of casting their ballots early and quickly.

?It?s exciting enough to have us up at 5:30 in the morning,? says voter Richard Bennett.

But the line quickly grew to about 1,000 people, forcing voters to stand in line for up to an hour to cast their votes. Still, most people did not seem to mind the long wait, instead relishing the historic significance of the election.

?Today we?re going to make history, and I want my kids and everybody?s kids to realize and understand it,? says voter Eric Ferguson.
