News 12 takes an inside look into a vintage soda fountain built inside a historical Brooklyn pharmacy where sweets meet nostalgia.
Peter Freeman, co-owner of Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Fountain, and his sister open the shop with a simple mission: to make the best egg cream in New York.
"Soda fountains were disappearing and the experience of being at a soda fountain were disappearing. So if you don’t provide that to the next generation, who’s gonna do it?" Peter says.
All of their egg cream and delicious deserts are made the old-school way.
"We have an old machine from line the 1940s. It’s old and banged up and sometimes it looks like it might overheat, but we’re honoring it by still working within that tradition," Peter adds.
So whether you come in for the sweets or the nostalgia, you’re definitely in for a treat.
