Nearly two weeks into autumn and temperatures have not quite begun to feel like it yet -- especially on Wednesday.

With highs in the 80s Tuesday, Brooklyn residents took to Coney Island to soak in the sun, despite the fact beaches are closed for swimming.

Mayor Bill de Blasio announced additional resources around the city to make sure everyone was safe amid the unseasonable weather. There were no lifeguards on duty Wednesday, and signs were posted warning visitors to only swim with a lifeguard present.

Over in the Rockaways, there were concerns of danger after reports that two teens went missing after last being seen in the waters there. In response, the Parks Department has increased parks enforcement patrol, including more officers on the boardwalk and beaches, a harbor boat and a rapid response vehicle on site.

Wednesday is expected to be the last of the hot weather for the near future -- highs will dip into the low-60s Thursday.
