A Brooklyn man is New York's first Powerball jackpot winner of 2019 with $298.3 million in earnings.
David Johnson, 56, was presented Friday with the prize check of $298.3 million at Resorts World Casino in Queens. The New York Lottery's Yolanda Vega awarded him with the check.
His numbers matched all five numbers plus the Powerball number drawn in Dec. 26, 2018 Powerball drawing.
The father of three says his daughter started to cry because she was so happy.
When asked if he would continue to work as a truck driver his answer was clear.
"No, I'm not going to continue to work," says Johnson. "I quit!"
Johnson says he plans to buy a nice house -- in Brooklyn, of course.
"New York is my place," says Johnson. "Brooklyn baby, Brooklyn."
The first thing he wants to do with his money is buy a red Porsche and take a drive to Florida with his wife.
