Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso kicked off a Pride Month celebration tonight at Brooklyn Borough Hall.
Dozens of people joined the borough’s president at a forum where Brooklyn residents and elected officials shouted out LGBTQ+ activists across the borough. Reynoso emphasized that Pride Month is about sticking together, and that Brooklyn is a borough that welcomes all LGBTQ+ New Yorkers.
Reynoso also said that Drag Story Hour has been a huge initiative to teach the youth about gender diversity in New York City.
The Gotham Cheerleaders and a drag performance from Jus Jahlisa also took place to celebrate the start of Pride Month.
