Brooklyn residents gather in Maria Hernandez Park to honor Black lives impacted by police brutality

Many residents gathered in Maria Hernandez Park Sunday to remember the lives of Black loved ones they lost and others who have been affected by police brutality.

Many residents gathered in Maria Hernandez Park Sunday to remember the lives of Black loved ones they lost and others who have been affected by police brutality.
The group took turns going up to a microphone and speaking to the crowd about the stories of their loved ones, as well as how they hope to see change in the near future.
Residents also took turns to lay bouquets of flowers in memory of their loved ones.
Many residents told News 12 that through being together in numbers, they are finding strength through their grief.
