The only Sports Authority store in Brooklyn is closing after the CEO announced that the company will file for chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The Gateway Center location is one of 140 closing down as Sports Authority reorganizes and attempts to regain financial stability.
Despite the closings, purchases can still be made online, and warranties or gift cards will still be valid.
Sports Authority has not yet announced how many jobs will be affected at its Brooklyn location or nationwide.
