? About 300,000 NYC students, including those in Brooklyn, will soon get a ride home from school after some special tutoring sessions.
It?s part of a new tutoring program that is included in a labor contract with teachers. Starting next month, the students will stay in school almost 40 minutes later Monday through Thursday. More than 400 buses will now make second trips to pick up about 50,000 students.
The city estimates the extra bus rides will cost about $48 million.
