In honor of National Cyberbullying Prevention Month, 250 filmmakers nationwide are making short documentaries with their own cyberbullying stories.
Brooklyn teenagers are working with the nonprofit Mythic Bridge to share their story about a girl in high school who is a victim of cyberbullying.
The students say they're learning more about the severity of the problem while also gaining experience.
"There's a lot to learn and experience to get out of what we're creating," says student, Kia Mahootian. "I hope it touches our audience."
Participants submitted their films Friday and the winners will be announced at the Teen Indie Awards Sunday. The winning team will take more than $25,000 in cash prizes.
