Brooklyn teens are getting down to business to learn the basics of wealth building.
The Brooklyn Junior League has teamed up with local businesses to bring the "Out of the Box" program to the borough for a second year.
"We're teaching them credit management, how to maintain and understand debt, how to understand expense management," said instructor Marc Ellis.
The program, part of a nationwide financial literacy program, is helping 40 young people.
"[I'm] learning everything about the business and the competition and who would buy your product, that was really helpful for me," said tenth-grader and aspiring fashion designer Nicole Blaine.
Graduates, such as Blaine, will leave the program with greater understanding and a new bank account, thanks to local banks that sponsor the program.
