A Brooklyn woman says a leak in the ceiling of her apartment is disrupting her family’s quality of life.

NYCHA resident Samantha Miller says the leak started off small but quickly turned into a two-week nightmare.

“It started off as a drip. It stopped, then started to seep through the floors. The walls started to bubble up,” she said.

The kitchen ceiling in her six-floor apartment kept getting worse, according to Miller.

She says the issue has impacted the well-being of her 9-year-old daughter, who has cerebral palsy.

“I've been using my daughter's medical pads for the last two weeks to soak up the water,” she said.

Miller’s bedroom has also been affected by the leak, forcing her to sleep on the living room couch as paint peels and water drips down the walls.

“We do not need to be inhaling this. We do not need to be smelling this,” she said.

Hours before the arrival of News 12 cameras, Miller says NYCHA maintenance was able to identify and repair the leak.

NYCHA has also told News 12 that they have reached out to her to schedule a mold inspection after the repairs are completed.
