Part of Brooklyn's iconic Kentile Floors sign returned to the borough Friday for just one night.
For those familiar with the Gowanus area, the giant sign was as synonymous with Brooklyn as its namesake bridge or Coney Island. But as reported in 2014, the sign was taken down and donated to the Gowanus Alliance after being part of the borough's skyline for 65 years.
The group brought back just the "K" part of the sign Friday night for its holiday party. The alliance invited the public to its potluck gathering, during which time guests were allowed to take photos the the sign.
As for a permanent home for the sign, Gowanus Alliance is still working on securing a spot.
