Festivities kicked off on Friday in Brownsville for the 60th annual Old Timers Reunion Weekend.
The event included live music from the likes of Evelyn Champagne King and Harlold Melvin and the Blue Notes. Those at the festival also got a chance to grab a bite to eat from the many plates being served all along Linden Boulevard.
In June of 2019, a deadly shooting took place during this annual celebration, claiming the life of one person and injuring 12 others. The Brooklyn DA says the gunman, Kyle Williams, fired shots with an estimated 500 people around. Williams was sentenced to 32 and ½ years to life in prison.
