The owner of a Brownsville video and record store was shot and killed Wednesday.

Police say they responded to The Whole Nine Yards store on Lott Avenue and found 55-year-old Stephen Howard dead from gunshot wounds.

Residents say that while violence is prevalent in the area, the shooting comes as a shock. They say Howard was a reserved and quiet man who kept to himself. Friends of Howard say he was a Muslim who was looking forward to the holy month of Ramadan.

Police are searching for suspects in the shooting. Sources tell News 12 Brooklyn that three men were involved in the shooting.
