A construction project along the Bruckner Boulevard is creating some major traffic backups for Bronx commuters.
According to the Department of Transportation (DOT), the delays are the result of ongoing road work on bridges near the Bronx River and Amtrak station. Officials suggest taking Westchester Avenue and turning left on Whitlock Avenue as an alternative route.
Drivers are also being warned to expect additional problems navigating the area this weekend. The DOT says the northbound Bruckner Expressway will be closed over the Amtrak tracks to the Sheridan Expressway from Friday night until Sunday morning.
