A former high school basketball star in The Bronx is looking to become a bigger part of the rotation during his upcoming sophomore season at LIU Brooklyn.
Gerrell Martin lead his Wings Academy team to the PSAL semifinal in 2010 before appearing in 27 games as a Blackbird last year, and hitting nearly 50-percent of his three-point attempts.
The new LIU head coach says Martin's efforts could put him in position for increased minutes this year.
