Bronx rapper Peter Cory Pankey Jr., known as Cory Gunz, was arrested by police on Saturday afternoon for allegedly carrying an unlicensed weapon.
Police say Pankey was carrying an unlicensed loaded 9 mm handgun in a backpack.
Pankey was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a firearm and released on $30,000 bail.
Pankey went to Twitter to apologize for the incident. "I apologize to all of my Supporters, Friends and Family. Things Happen, No excuses. My only regret is letting ya'll down..." he said in a tweet.
