A Bronx teacher accused of assaulting a student has been released without bail pending trial. Evelyn Tirado, 53, is accused of hitting a 12-year-old student at Dr. Izquierdo Health and Science Charter

A Bronx teacher accused of assaulting a student has been released without bail pending trial.
Evelyn Tirado, 53, is accused of hitting a 12-year-old student at Dr. Izquierdo Health and Science Charter School last week for attempting to leave her class.
Prosecutors asked the judge for a $5,000 bail, but the judge declined. The judge did issue an order of protection for the student against Tirado.
Tirado is due back in court on April 30.
2 BX teachers arrested in separate incidents with students
