A Bronx veterinarian has been charged with three misdemeanors for allegedly dumping animal carcasses along the Hutchinson River Parkway in Westchester.
Back in April, police found the remains of 35 animals along the side of the road - 26 cats, 8 dogs and a lizard. Police were able to identify the owners of two of the animals, and they were linked to the clinic of Andrew Manesis, 66.
Former clients also accuse Manesis of lying to them about their pets. Lisa Calisi claims Manesis wouldn't let her see her dog while he was being put to sleep or afterwards. She also suspects her dog could be one of the bodies found, as the place where he was allegedly cremated has no record of him.
Manesis is due in court on June 5. Anyone with information about the case can contact Westchester police at 1-877-220-3560.
