Cold case investigators have charged a man with murder in the 2015 beating and strangulation death of another man in Newark.
The count against Victor Taylor, 47, of Irvington, was announced Thursday.
Taylor is charged in the February 2015 death of Mark Holley, who was found lying in a pool of blood in his apartment.
The murder charge stems from an investigation conducted by the North Jersey Cold Case Task Force, a tri-county unit formed earlier this year involving investigators from Bergen, Essex and Passaic counties.
Authorities didn't provide details on what led them to bring the charge.
They also didn't disclose a possible motive for the attack.
AP wire services helped contribute to this report.
