Community leaders gathered at the intersection of Flatbush and Nostrand avenues to denounce gun violence in the wake of two Halloween shootings in Flatbush.
Police say a 14-year-old was shot in the face and just a few hours later a 17-year-old was shot in the leg less than a mile away. Both teens are expected to be fine.
No arrests have been made in either shooting, so community leaders are asking anyone with information to come forward.
"If you're walking by and you see a young man get shot in the face, providing information so we can make sure it doesn't happen again is not the definition of snitching," says Brooklyn Councilman Jumaane Williams. "You don't have to go to the police. You can come to one of these community groups that are here or you can come to my office."
