Community and family members gathered on Friday to voice their anger after a mother was killed in a hammer attack.
The sister-in-law of the mother was joined by other family and elected leaders in Sunset Park saying they do not want to see these incidents happen on their doorstep, and that mental health services, housing and care are needed for families to prosper.
"We must work together across party lines to make sure when they seek help there are resources available to make sure that happens,” said Assemblymember William Colton. The two children injured in this attack remain in critical condition.
