Mayor Bloomberg stated Friday that the case of the man who contracted anthrax while working with animal skins in a Brooklyn warehouse is an accidental and isolated case. Vado Diamonde tested positive for inhalation anthrax last week. Doctors at the hospital in Pennsylvania where he is being treated have upgraded his condition from stable to serious. Hospital officials say Diamonde is experiencing increased difficulty breathing.According to the Mayor, there is absolutely no health risk to anyone else contracting the potentially deadly disease. The seven other people suspected of coming in contact with the anthrax are receiving antiobitics as a preventive measure, although they show no symptoms.
