Dentists from Coney Island are trying to promote good oral health with low anxiety - with a little help from some friendly creatures.
Students from P.S. 253 got the chance to go to the Coney Island Aquarium before getting oral screenings provided by Coney Island Hospital, all in celebration of Dental Health Month.
The screenings were free for students. Dentists are keeping their information so that it can be passed along to parents, ensuring that the children can come back for follow-up appointments. The program was designed to take the pressure off of kids that are worried to see a dentist.
