Coney Islanders rally against new high rise
Coney Island residents rallied Tuesday against a high-rise building under construction in the area.
They want the developer of the new tower at 532 Neptune Ave., Cammeby's International, to answer questions about the safety of the 42-story building.
It's slated to have more than 540 apartments and 162,000 square feet of retail space.
The protesters also say they're worried about parking space and the closure of small businesses in the area.
And another complaint they say is keeping them up at night -- the construction work runs late into the evening and creates sound pollution.
The developer declined to comment to News 12 regarding the protest.
