Hurricane Bill?s arrival drove crowds of people away from the beach and toward the public pools Friday.
Spending time in sweltering Sunset Park wasn?t the first option for the would-be beachgoers, some who said they?d prefer to cool down at the beach.
Many parents decided to bring their kids to the 44th Street and 7th Avenue pool where they were safely away from the violent waves from the on-coming storm.
Despite the crowd of people, staff at the pool said they are not extending their hours.
