Crown Heights voters plagued with long lines, broken scanners
For some areas around Brooklyn, the voting process didn't go so smoothly on Election Day.
Voters at P.S. 243 in Crown Heights said that their patience was running thin as some waited for up to two hours to cast their votes on Tuesday night.
The reason for the long wait time and a line that wrapped around the school's gymnasium was that two scanning machines stopped working and were down for a couple of hours before they were fixed.
Earlier in the day on Tuesday voters lined up as early as 4 a.m. at P.S. 91, also in Crown Heights, and were met with headaches and chaos. Many waited in line over an hour to cast their vote.
Voters there Tuesday morning were also told that the ballots were taken to the wrong location.
News 12 was told that only one of two scan machines was working.
Despite the frustration, many people were willing to go to great lengths, including missing work in order to cast their vote.
