The deadline for New York state to pass its budget is less than a month away, and Gov. Andrew Cuomo is asking the people for help in supporting his two bills.
The governor was at the Christian Cultural Center talking to faith leaders about his proposal to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour to lift millions of working families out of poverty.
Cuomo says families in New York can't be supported on the current minimum wage, which is $9 an hour.
The governor is also proposing family paid leave, which would entitle New York state employees 12 weeks of paid off time while caring for a sick relative or newborn.
