Cyclones put on a different kind of show
Baseball returned to Coney Island Friday night, and fans stormed the ballpark early for the Brooklyn Cyclones' opening day against their rival, the Staten Island Yankees.
Fans say they enjoy going to minor league games at KeySpan Park because of the greater interaction between fans and players. They say they get to know the players before they get called up to play for the New York Mets.
One Cyclones fan, Tom Davis, says he enjoys watching his team because he can't afford to go to Queens to catch a Mets game.
Excited fans also said they were eager to munch on some Nathan's hot dogs and to hit the Coney Island attractions after the games.
