A new program in the Bronx hopes to connect parents and children through the art of dance.
The Paige Fraser Foundation’s “Dance To Bond” program is free and for kids ages 4-12.
"These classes focus on ballet, but also African movement. It is really great to have this space and offer these programs for free to the community,” says Chief Artistic Officer Paige Fraser-Hoffman.
Fraser-Hoffman, a Bronx native, says she is grateful to be able to provide her own borough with free activities to unite the community and her foundation will never turn anyone away.
"We need to feel safe in the spaces we're in. And as a dancer with scoliosis it is incredibly important that I am providing programs that allow young artist that might have a physical challenge are seen and heard,” she says.
The program occurs at 10 a.m. every Wednesday at Mind Builders in the Bronx.
