A celebration Sunday honored Brooklyn's own Biggie Smalls, 22 years after the rapper's death.
A brunch was held at Milk River Restaurant on Atlantic Avenue in Crown Heights. Paintings on the walls honored the slain rapper, and his music videos played on a screen.
The Notorious BIG, whose real name was Christopher Wallace, was gunned down on March 9, 1997, in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles. His murder remains unsolved.
His daughter, T'yanna Wallace, was just 3 years old at the time of his death. She hosted Sunday's event to honor her late father, who remains one of Brooklyn's most celebrated residents. Rapper Lil Cease also performed at the event.
Other events across the city this weekend were also held to celebrate Biggie's life.
