Detective Edwin Espinal is hoping a new video will help solve a case of two stabbing deaths in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens.
Stephenson Bonaparte, 65, and Hazel Brown, 59, were stabbed to death on the night of Feb. 7.
Police are calling two people who appear in a video persons of interest in the case.
Espinal said, describing the contents of the video, “That night it was raining, it was dark. These two individuals parked at the location, existed the vehicle during the time that the victims were going into their home.”
Bonaparte and Brown were parents, grandparents, and beloved members of the community who were known for their charitable work.
Police say Bonaparte was found outside of the couple’s Winthrop Street home, and Brown in the living room, as their daughter and infant grandchild were upstairs.
The two were stabbed multiple times.
Brown was pronounced dead at the scene, while Bonaparte died at the hospital.
Espinal said the police are working many leads, including a possible dispute arising from the religious store that the couple owned and worked at.
Police are offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction and can be reached at 1-800-577-TIPS.
