"Disney on Ice" is set to open at the Barclays Center in Downtown Brooklyn, starring a local skater in one of the lead roles.
Leena Ramirez, of Crown Heights, has been a part of the show for the past six years, but this is her first performance in Brooklyn.
"I remember there was nothing here -- it was like in an abandoned lot," Ramirez says. "So to have a venue right here, it means so much to the Brooklynites. It's ours and it's unique to us."
Disney is also making a big deal about this year's run for the show's 100th anniversary.
The ice-skating spectacular includes a range of characters from classics like Donald Duck and Goofy to the princesses in "Frozen."
The show runs through Nov. 15.
