Dog owners in Van Nest are walking more freely thanks to a new dog waste station in their neighborhood. Located at the corner of Van Nest Avenue and Unionport Road, the station features a trash receptacle and plastic bags. Residents say the amount of dog droppings in the area had become an issue, hinting that the facility will help improve their quality of life. Funding for the project came from Councilman Joel Rivera (D-District 15) and the Neighborhood Initiative Development Corporation.
