Donations, gift bags given out to families in need for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day weekend getting off to an early surprise start for families experiencing homelessness in the Bronx.

Mother’s Day weekend getting off to an early surprise start for families experiencing homelessness in the Bronx.
Riverdale resident Jessica Woolford has been getting donations of fresh food and produce from the community and giving it to people in need around Kingsbridge.
 In addition, Hunts Point Market has delivered a truck filled with bags of food from for people at the Broadway Family Residence. 
Woolford and the shelter told News 12 they are also putting together a surprise Mother’s Day celebration with cards, flowers, cupcakes and gift bags.
The bags will be filled with face masks and lotions.
