The Department of Transportation (DOT) has launched a project to reconstruct a dangerous intersection in Flatbush.
The construction is aimed at making pedestrians safer when they cross the streets at Parkside and Ocean avenues between the subway and Prospect Park. DOT officials say fast wide turns conflict with walk signals. Other planned improvements include tightening the intersection to make pedestrians more visible to drivers, and a realignment and widening of the sidewalk.
