The waterfall exhibit that has been hovering over the East River won't be flowing as frequently.
Officials say they're reducing the cascading time of the waterfalls because the vegetation near the Brooklyn Promenade is being affected by its salt water.
Park officials say reducing the waterfall's hours should help the plants, but that washing the leaves to flush out the salt also will be useful.
Beginning Sept. 8, the exhibit will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays through Sundays from 12:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Mondays and Wednesdays, the exhibit will go from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
