A fuel tanker and SUV collided Monday morning and burst into flames in Elizabeth.
There were no serious injuries and occupants were treated on the scene, according to public information officer Ruby Contreras.
A section of Route 1&9 southbound in Elizabeth, south of Elizabeth Avenue to Maple Avenue, closed for several hours as crews worked to clean up the remains of the crash.
Video taken around 5:30 a.m. from an employee at a nearby McDonalds showed intense flames that damaged the JK Petroleum. The Honda CRV involved was removed from the road around 7 a.m.
It's unclear what exactly the truck was carrying. The cause of the crash is not yet known.
