Expand your mind and indulge in inspiration at the Neuberger Museum of Art in Purchase

The Neuberger Museum of Art in Purchase is known for its African collection, and for Black History Month, News 12 is highlighting exhibitions to learn from on this week's Road Trip: Close to Home.
Since the museum's inception, both African and African American art has been an integral part of the permanent collection.
And today, you'll find paintings, sculptures and even performances reflecting the culture. In fact, the newest exhibition is called "Hard Return." "We have nine artists that are going to be in the show…this project is thinking about what it means to return to performance, to an audience, two people, to engagement, to how we relate to one another," says Kate Gilmore, c-curator.
Through May, visitors can embrace a whole different form of interactive performance art. News 12 had the opportunity to witness the work of Kenyan-born artist Brandon Fernandes. "It is highly tied to Black culture because Black folks created Vogue, it's a response to a form of oppression to not be able to self-express," explains Jason Rodriguez, teacher and Vogue expert
