Parents are seeking answers after the unexpected shutdown of a Bronx preschool program.
Tender Tots' preschool license was suspended because of an incident involving a child who had tried to leave the building in September.
Families say they received a letter from the city's Health Department and were given no advanced warning about the school's closure.
More than 90 students are enrolled at the Close Avenue preschool, and it is unknown when the school is expected to reopen.
Parents say they chose the school because of its excellent program and now their children are asking questions about when they can return.
"Every day she wants to know when am I going to school," said Rodney Brown, who has a 4-year-old granddaughter in the program. "When we pulled up here she was asking me, 'Can we go in? Is the school open?'"
In addition to extra child care expenses, parents also say not going to school is affecting their education.
