New York's bravest are remembering one of their own as loved ones begin saying goodbye to a fallen firefighter who hails from The Bronx.
A wake for Lt. Richard Nappi was held at Maloney's Funeral Home on Long Island tonight where the 47-year-old lived with his wife and two children.
Nappi died earlier this week after he overheated and collapsed from exhaustion while battling flames at a warehouse in Brooklyn. The lieutenant was a 10-year FDNY veteran and a first responder during the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
A second wake will be held Friday afternoon and Nappi will finally be laid to rest following a funeral Mass and procession Saturday morning.
