FDNY inspector from BK charged with accepting bribes
An FDNY inspector from Brooklyn has been arrested and charged with accepting bribes.
Carlos Montoya allegedly took part in a million-dollar day care fraud scheme. Prosecutors say he took money from centers in exchange for certifying that they complied with safety standards.
Authorities say 16 other people have been arrested in connection with the scheme.
