A massive overnight fire broke out at an East Flatbush tire shop.
The FDNY says no one was hurt during the fire that erupted at the business on the corner of Church Avenue and East 57th Street around 2:30 a.m.
The fire chief on scene says there were racks of tires on fire and burning debris.
Crews worked to keep the fire from spreading as they were also concerned that the flames would jump to the commercial building next door or any of the homes.
Valerie Darden was working at a McDonald's across the street. She said she and her co-workers called 911 and watched in worry as the flames shot up into the air.
"The sparks, they were just falling on top of McDonald's roof, so I was scared because we could feel the heat from the fire," Darden said.
She said she feels bad for the owners of the shop.
"He's so friendly, he tips the workers, he buys his big breakfast and I love the lady that owns it as well. They're so friendly. They come every morning," Darden said.
The fire marshal's office was on scene throughout the day sifting through the debris to try to determine a cause.
