FDNY officials say their trucks are having difficulty turning onto narrow Pelham Parkway side roads following road expansion and sidewalk installation.
The FDNY says there's also not enough room to extend a truck's stabilizers, which prevent a truck from tipping over. Residents say they didn't need the sidewalks in the first place and want them removed, but the community board says doing so could cost the city millions of dollars.
The FDNY says it?s working with the Department of Transportation to install "No Standing" signs on corners where there are turning issues. It is also looking into the stabilizer issue.
