FDNY officials say a deadly fire that broke out Monday in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens was caused by someone smoking.
Patricia Thomas, 64, died in the fire at her home on Fenimore Street.
Officials also say there were fire alarms in the house but they weren't working at the time of the fire.
The emergency service company that has been boarding up the home says it plans to demolish the house sometime this week.
