Officials are investigating the cause of a fire that engulfed a vacant home in Midwood. The flames began on the porch and quickly spread through the rest of the house on Avenue H, near East 15th Street.

Officials are investigating the cause of a fire that engulfed a vacant home in Midwood.
The flames began on the porch and quickly spread through the rest of the house on Avenue H, near East 15th Street.
Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control before it could spread to any neighboring homes or affect a subway station for the Q train located right next door.
The fire chief says that the home is under construction, which made battling the flames more difficult.
No one was in the house, and no injuries were reported.
