Maintenance workers in Flatbush Gardens are back on the job after a 16-month lockout and a negotiated pay cut. The workers were locked out by their parent company, Renaissance Equity Holdings, after contract talks fell apart in November 2010. Union officials with SEIU Local 32BJ say 70 workers protested without a new deal in place. A federal judge ordered the owners to restart discussions, which left the employees with a 20 percent drop in salary. Workers are still at odds with union officials, claiming they should have been paid during the lockout. The two parties are scheduled to resume talks this Friday, April 6.
